Sam ... "the double threat"  Koehn  ...
sits with a pair of beautiful young gobblers.

This young man scores on his first turkey ever in 2010. Sam and his
dad enjoy a day where two birds fall and both tags are filled. What a shot ... Sam and his Dad had a morning to remember ! The Koehn's are from Holy Cross, Iowa and I'm sure Sam will be turkey hunting from here on out !

Connie Davenport scores on a nice gobbler on the first day of the Illinois Northern Zone Turkey season. She shoots a 20 ga and knocked him dead at 51 yards. Great photo ... thanks Les, tell others to send in theirs.

The above four photos are courtesy of Von Clark.

It looks like he knows where to be for his Turkey Hunt !

Above, my hunting partners for the Missouri Youth season,  ... ( Dad Joey and Son Mason ) ponder the event that unfolded. Sunday morning, ... was perfect. The sun was rising, the birds were sounding off from the roost and " Super Tommy" was spinning and strutting like the real deal. Everything went according to plan, ...  except one small detail. The shot placement missed it's mark. Other than that, ... I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Even though 8 year old Mason didn't connect, ... we sure had fun. One hen flew out of the trees and actually landed on our hen decoy. That's right, ... knocked our decoy over. Then, ... left the decoy spread only to return with other hens and two strutting Toms. Super Tommy and the real turkeys stood beak to beak putting on one impressive morning of fun. So again, it's not harvesting the trophy that matters, ... merely spending time with our kids, teaching them and showing them we care about their future.

Father and Son team ...

Keith and Wesley Carnley start out the season with a double !

Then, ... on Day two ... Keith fills another tag !

And, not to be out done ... so too does Wesley with a huge gobbler !

And ... rounding out their first three days in Tennessee ... lets go 3 for 3 !

And Wesley does too. Amazing ... 6 birds in three days.

Outdoor Girl of the Month for May ... Miss Shannon Gillette ...

scores on a pair of Big Gobblers in Kansas with archery equipment.

No wonder why she lands on our list as one awesome lady.

Dean Sandman of Bluffs, IL ... takes a turkey in the Illinois 1st season. Looks like he had help from some professional callers to me.

Mark Sandman ... also scores on a nice Gobbler in the IL first season.

John Block ... scores in 2010 with help from friend Roy.

John, ... he's a good ole boy ... and after giving credit to his

hunting buddy Roy for calling, he says " This Buds for you Roy".

I'll tip my bottle to Roy as well. Great job Roy & John.

Outdoor Girl of the Week in 2008 and 2 time Outdoor Girl of the

Week in 2009, ...  Rebecca ...  has Turkey success in Florida! She

Joe McDaniel fills his second season tag !

Anne King fills her First season tag !

Hunting with anyone new to the turkey hunting world sure is fun. Anne was great to spend some time with. I sure hope she plans a 2011 turkey hunt with me as well.

John Kerley harvested a beautiful 25 pound Brown County Gobbler.

You can tell by that grin, Ole John is quite proud of his calling abilities.

I can vouch ... there ain't none better than ole John.

Craig Edlin ( with help from his Son ) harvests a young gobbler

on a recent hunt in Brown County. Looks like his son gives ...

"The Thumps Up" for having fun with dad !

Corey Spurgen ... one awesome caller and hunter

scores with this nice IL Gobbler.

Corey Spurgen ... with the field photo. Great Bird !

BC Outlaw and The Lodgeman with Rick's young gobbler.

Stacy Young, sent this photo in. It's her friend Dustin trying

to find a certain field using his Droid and Google earth.

Now, that's high tech turkey hunting!

Now, ... here is Stacy Young. She wore a nice cap while

hunting with me recently. But I thought she could do better.

Now, ... that's better. She's sporting TheLodgeman.com cap !

Wesley poses with ole number 8 ... that's right ... he and his Dad harvested 8 gobblers this 2010 Season. Them boys know how to whack them birds !

Kampp Outdoor Products ... cedar box call.

The first winner of the Wudyaget - BirdBrain Turkey Fan mounting kit

Derek Kitchell shows off his awesome 2010 Gobbler.

It was a 24 pounder sporting a 9.5 beard and 1 1/8 spurs. Might I

add Derek is sporting the "Old School LODGE hat too. Thanks for

entering the contest Derek. You'll love the classy plaque they will make.

Mark Scuman holds up a nice Tom called up and shot just minutes

after the fly down. His hunting buddy Lonnie Foust tells me ...

Kampp Outdoor Products, ... and mainly the mouth calls have been

driving those Missouri Birds crazy. He wants me to get him more !

Team Lodge from Iowa have been doing great as well. Linda and Jim

Piper fill all their tags with some outstanding Birds. Linda tells me ...

one Tom sported 1 1/4 spurs. Those are some mature Gobbler.

The "SLEDGE" Hammer and local Turkey Hunting Legend poses

with his 2010 Gobbler and he too is sporting the old school "

The LODGE Taxidermy " cap from many years ago. He tells me

it's the lucky cap as he ALWAYS gets a bird while wearing it.

Scott Paisley scores with one day to spare in the IL 5th season.

Any bird taken in the final days are good birds, ...

but Scott's gobbler sure is one nice bird.

Jessica Edd poses with a beautiful Wyoming Gobbler she harvested

with her Bow on a recent hunting trip ! This gal is awesome !

Kelley from Pennsylvania, ... scores on a archery hunt recently.

Now that's a awesome Outdoor Girl !

Marc Stone scores with TheLodgeman.com too. Marc's gobbler was

a nice Tom going 22 pounds with a 10 inch beard and 1 3/8 spurs.

It's been a good season ... Hunting with family and friends,

it just can't get better.

My Missouri Bird ... they sure have some nice ones. It was taken

by my trusty H&R Ten Gauge ... one shot ... one bird.

Karen ... from Colchester, Vermont poses with a

dandy gobbler from the North East.

That sure is a beauty, ... and the turkey ain't bad either !

I'm not sure how much this bird weighed, ... but it appears to be

a huge one. Thanks Karen for providing these great photos.

Above... a former Outdoor Girl of the Week in 2008 has a successful

outing with her fiance. Sarrah tells me they harvested the double

while hunting with www.daoutfitters.com of kentucky.

Then, ... while hunting by herself back in Ohio ...

Miss Sarrah scores again on this beautiful Gobbler.

 Here's my 5th season success !

Jason Donovan and Jake Allen team up using Kampps'

Cedar Box call for a couple nice gobblers.

Theresa Luttrell scores on a rainy day with a soaked gobbler.

We may have to start a new contest called ... " The Best Fan Award ".

I'm thinking Theresa's photo would be in the running !

( I know Theresa, it was wet and the day you got your bird, it was one

rainy nasty day ... I tip my hat for your success. A job well done )

Doug and I pose with Kampp's awesome glass and slate call ...

it's done well.

In Brown County, ... the hills are big, the rocks are hard ...

but the hunting is good.

Slammer ... he Da Man !
