JMAC of TEAM LODGE ... scores well.
Most times, ... a Dad will brag on their kids when they shouldn't. Most parents are guilty of that. But, when your kids harvests a nice buck ... the facts are the facts. This is one nice Illinois Whitetail.
I've heard all about global warming, ... green house effects ... well let me tell ya what, ... day one of the Illinois Gun season found the temps at 17 degrees. We haven't had this cold of a November hunt is quite some time. ( I must be getting soft ) Anyway, ... it was COLD. Global warming my @$$
Joe, ... says the buck appeared moving up the creek line. It approached through thick brush, but from up wind. The buck got within 20 yards at one point, but Joe couldn't or didn't want to force a shot through. The Buck then moved away down the hill and Joe was able to find his clear lane. He said that he had the gun on the deer for nearly five minutes waiting for the perfect shot. He was so scared he'd mess it up. ( I think he knew what he was doing )
Older brother, CMAC ... Casey McDaniel is even happy for his little bro. ( where's that boys orange )
Yeah, ... the ole man even snuck in for a photo. We've got an unofficial score, but I'd like to see if folks out there can come close. So, ... send me your guess at jeff@thelodgeman.com. The closest person will receive a free Deer Antler Mushroon Key chain. ( WOW ... our prizes are awesome ) OK ... maybe not ... but we'll ship to your door if you're the closest guess totally free. I'll post the score and winner on Monday Nov. 24th !!!
Also ... keep checking back ... Team Member Bob Kompel took a nice Rocky Top - Tenn beauty. Photos to come. Team member Eric Reich took a nice buck too. Once the photos are provided ... maybe we'll guess it's score too. And, ... BC buddy ... Dan Newton's son Nicholas also harvested a IL dandy.
Lastly, ... as the photos continue to be submitted ... I'll make a 2008 Deer success gallery.
