Coyotes and New Lambs ...

I got a phone call requesting a little help. A pair of coyotes were spotted very near these new born lambs. The farmer was a little concerns about their safety. He told me that the young lambs have been crying out of fear of the lurking coyotes.  I told him that I would see what I could do.

Needless to say, ... with so many draws of cover for the coyotes to hide in, I thought they would be fairly close. With an early morning set up ... and the snow falling ... it didn't take long for those hungry yotes to appear. Using my Mossberg 835 with the Xtra Full Choke tube in and some heavy loads ... it only takes a few pellets to bring'm down at 40 yards. When coyotes decide to race in, ... the action is fast and ends suddenly.

So, with the pair quickly disposed of, I called the farmer with the great news. The Silencing of the Lambs had taken place. With these two yotes removed, their cries should be few.   ( well until the next ones show up )

Late season coyote calling is all about finding the food source. With snow continuing to fall ... food low, ... coyotes will look at any easy meal as an opportunity. So, ... set up where they are, ... if you are wanting to score.
