Mason and Trey ...
help TheLodgeman catch some fish.
This fish looks too big ... right. It's like, ... I did some trick here. You might even think ... I'm holding the line way in front of Trey ... Hmmmm ...
Nope ... That is one HUGE Blue Gill. And ... 3 year old Trey hauled it in.
Not to be outdone, ... Mason holds up a pretty big Blue Gill too !
Mason gives me the "thumbs up" for having fun. Uncle Jeff has a pretty good pond ... and Mason and Trey were turned loose with me ... yeah, ... I'm the only one supervising this mission. ( What were their parents thinking ? )
As the sun was going down ... the fish were biting. Really, ... Trey and Mason may look calm here, but ... these two kids caught a bunch of fish in less than a hour.
Trey has a bite ... and I'm telling him ... reel ... reel ... but the always calm Trey wanted to play it a little and let the drag do it's job. He set a light drag so he could gain a more rewarding experience.
Yeah, ... that was fun ... right Trey ?
Right there is why we go. What a smile. ( and actually I also go for the accident waiting to happen. Trey is standing on a four inch plank. ) He's got his life jacket on, ... and I thought for sure he'd get wet. I was waiting all evening for it. He walked that plank and never took a dive.
Mason, ... he gives me a "wink" as he caught the last fish of the evening. I said, ... one more and we're heading home. Mason ends the evening with another big ole Blue Gill, ... while Trey says ... Should TheLodgeman get in one photo ?
Okay, ... since Trey asked ... I couldn't say no.
Mason pulls the stringer up from the water ... and WOW ... that's a bunch of fish. Trey hears a bull frog and is thinking about going after it.
Mason told me ... just take the photo here, ... I'm tired of holding them up.
The grass around the pond was so tall ... I thought ... hey ... stop dudes ... one more photo. We still have these two fishermen for another day, ... so, ... I think I'll hit the ole watering hole again. Yeah, ... and after that ... maybe the real watering hole too !!!
