BC Outlaw and Shawn Kneevers ....

February was a slow month in the Hog hunting world. But, ... that was good news for Shawn and Tanis Kneevers of Wisc. Shawn and his family came down over the weekend and enjoyed a great hunt.

Shawn, Tanis and "Outlaw" ... discussed the weapon Tanis used to harvest two hogs on the first day. It was one sweet little H&R / New England Arms .243 youth single shot. I use my .243 H&R out west and I know it will do the job. Shawn told us, ... that a group of three hogs worked down the creek line, ... dropping in the creek, ...in and out of sight. But Tanis, ... ( 12 years old ) was "cool under pressure". Once the shot opportunity was available, ... Tanis made good on his first ever hog hunt. I my opinion, ... Tanis is one mature young man.

Shawn and Tanis sitting at the ground blind behind the pond dam, ... harvested three hogs early. Here, the smile on young Tanis  ... says it all.

Here, ... father and son proudly sit with a with a good harvest of hogs. The big hog on the right went nearly 140 pounds, the middle one was near 110, while the smaller one was right at 70. No matter how you slice it, ... those three will be some fine eating hogs.

The photos shows the size of the young BOAR in front of Tanis. That's a nice size hog. Father and son sure are happy. Shawn told us , ... they're coming back.

Now, ... sometimes luck plays into any hunters success. With three hogs down, ... Shawn called in Rick and I to help load and haul them back to the barn. With darkness falling fast, ... we crested a hill and to our surprize and Shawn's delight ... this 250 pound hog of a HOG ... slipped under a fence cutting across a open corn field. Shawn, using his lever action 30/30 placed one shot ... We watched the hog race away presenting no other shot but a rear end .... waiting and watching , ... the hog turned, and just as Shawn was about to deliver another bullet, ... this big boar back stepped and went down. Really, ... it was an amazing shot by Shawn.

This brut was gnarl, hairy, ... and one nasty Boar. Tanis was happy for his Dad. They were happy with the first three, ... this one iced the cake! Like we say, ... " Our hogs are nasty " This Boar was nearly 250 pounds, ... add all four thogether and Shawn & Tanis brought down 570 pounds or an average of over 140 per hog. That's a great hunt.

Below are some candid photos from the "Outlaw Barn".

Back at the Outlaw Barn, ... we had a good time taking care of the hogs. We had some support from our local farmers, ...  happy to see these hogs not roaming about. Blue Room CEO and support staff Golly made it over as well as Chris and Erik. Shawn even brought his younger son Reno. Actually, ... Shawn's entire family made the trip, ... his Wife Sara and daughter Cali stayed back at the hotel. I can't say enough about Shawn family. The two boys were two of the best kids I've been around.

Now, ... remember BC Outlaw & TheLodgeman.com sponsoring the mascot for the local high school .... these two photos are random, ... but, ... while we were out hunting with Shawn, ... the girls were still having fun thanking us for our support.

Before the Championships ... the gals take time to pose and give the "Outlaw Salute" Awesome .... just freaking AWESOME.

Now, ... that's what I call PR work. Are these gals not GREAT !!! WOW, ... the triple stack, ... with the "Outlaw Salute" to boot !!! Oh, ... and don't forget, ... BUZZ ... the mascot. At the end of the game and the Hornets taking the Championship .... the gals couldn't help be give us one final moment. Thanks girls ( and BUZZ ) ... You gals are the real CHAMPIONS. Who knows, maybe a future Outdoor Girl of the week is right before us ? I know I'd like to feature some BC gals !
