Devils Tower is awesome to see. I've driven by and it is just amazing to see this formation pop up into the landscape. You can't believe how big this is until you drive by. And to hunt in this area ... WOW ... Shantane is the most awesome hunter I know !!!
Since I've had the pleasure to get to know Shantane ... she just impresses me more and more.
I think one of the most impressive things is ... her daughter, Samantha is always with her. Really, ... spend time with your kids, ... or take other kids too ... it's time well spent. Look at that smile ... priceless !!!
Shantane hunted with Samantha and this young man Ty on his dad's ground. I think he's proud of Shantane too. I'll bet these two will be hunting on their own real soon.

If you've looked at Shantane's previous photos ... you know she wears her lucky shirt each time out. That's why I said ... yeah, ...She's the most awesomest hunter I know. ( really though, ... she is ) Now, ... if anyone thinks Shantane should be a Outdoor Girl of the Week ... let me know. Maybe I'll twist her arm ?
While Shantane was busy in Wyoming, ... Joe and I were having fun too !
Our seasons have been filled with rain , ... cold days and hot days. But, Joe managed to shoot a nice gobbler in the second season.
Packing birds to the truck is one of my favorite things. ( it means I can get some coffee and wake up )
Joe doubled up with a Jake later ... we thought they were hens at first ... but Joe whispered, ... hey that one has got a little beard ... and before I knew it ... BAM ... he dropped him.
I think Joe likes packing them to the truck too ... as with each harvest , ... we stop in at the Blue Jay Junction in Bluffs, IL for coffee, soda, chips or some good breakfast pizza ! We've done that since he was little ...
